Back in January this year, the Vivo Y01 entry-level phone was leaked, revealing its design, specifications, and even pricing. Now, after nearly 2 months, the phone has quietly gone official in multiple markets. The smartphone has been listed on the company’s official website for the African market.
The Vivo Y01 features plastic construction with a 6.51-inch waterdrop notch display. It has an IPS LCD panel with HD+ (1600 x 720 pixels). Its back design is similar to the Vivo Y15s launched in January this year. The dimensions of the device are as follows: 163.96 x 75.2 x 8.28mm. The phone weighs 178 grams.
It features an 8MP single camera at the rear with an f/2.0 aperture. It has a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It also has an LED flash below the rear camera lens. The rear camera has different modes like face beauty and time-lapse mode.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 SoC with 2GB, 3GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. It has a microSD card slot for extra storage. It houses a 5,000mAh battery that supports a 10W charging speed.
It boots on Android 11 Go Edition and has Funtouch OS 11.1 installed on it. It has a micro USB port for charging and supports Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi. The phone supports dual SIM and has 4G connectivity.
Unfortunately, when it comes to pricing, it’s unclear how much the device will cost. But what we do know is the colors, and the phone comes in Sapphire Blue and Elegant Black.
