The Redmi G 2021 gaming laptops
As promised Xiaomi introduced gaming laptops, one with an Intel processor and one with an AMD processor, sport the same with Nvidia RTX graphics. Here are the Redmi G 2021 laptops.
Both laptops have 16.1 ”displays up to 144 Hz refresh rate. There’s also a 72Hz mode if the GPU can’t cut it for some game. The upgraded Hurricane Cooling 3.0 system will try with two N-12V fans and five all-copper heat pipes to allow CPU and GPU fires to fire all cylinders.
Laptops have an equivalent memory configuration, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB storage. They also share Wi-Fi 6 connections, DTS: X Ultra 3D audio, and backlight keyboards (with three brightness levels).
Intel version is powered by Core i5-11260H (Tiger Lake N), with Hexa core processor up to Turbo Frequency 4.4 GHz. This is a Ge that comes with the GeForce RTX 3050 GPU.
The AMD version Ryzen 5800H is powered by eight Zen 3 cores and clocked at 4.4 GHz. However, this one gets a Beefer GeForce RTX 3060 GPU with up to 130W of TDP.
To feed that extra TDP, the AMD version comes with a 230W charger (versus 180W for Intel one). For comparison, the 3060 has 3,840 CUDA cores and 192-bit buses, while the 3050 has 2,048 CUDA cores and 128-bit memory buses.
The laptops are already being launched in China. The Redmi G 2021 is coming tomorrow with an Intel Core i5 priced at CNY 5,700 ($ 880). An AMD with Ryzen 5800H will arrive on September 28 (next Tuesday Erie) and will set you back CNY 7,000 ($ 1,080).
