Snapdragon 8 GX Gen 1

Regarding the naming of Qualcomm’s new generation of flagship processors, there have been divergent opinions from the outside world. Half a month ago, everyone thought that the new generation of processors would continue the name of Snapdragon 888 called Snapdragon 898, but in the recent period, many people who broke the news said It will not be called Snapdragon 898, and Qualcomm has officially determined that Snapdragon will become an independent brand in the future. At that time, Snapdragon will no longer appear in parallel with the Qualcomm brand. At the same time, Qualcomm also stated that the new Snapdragon will adopt a simplified and consistent new naming system.

However, just today, there was news that a screenshot of a suspected Qualcomm official website was released. The new product icon displayed in it was impressively displayed that the chip will be named “Snapdragon 8 Gx Gen 1”.

The specific meaning of this logo is not clear, but the official name of SM8450 is Snapdragon 8 Gx Gen 1. It’s fixed, don’t worry.”

In other words, the final name should still be the previously announced “Snapdragon 8 Gen 1”, which may only be an overseas version. However, I don’t know how the official future will define the Chinese name for this generation of chips. After all, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is literally translated. The first generation of Snapdragon 8 is not only not good, but also not as easy to remember as the pure numbers before.

Of course, although the name has changed from time to time, it has been uncertain, but the specifications have long been finalized.
According to the news, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will be based on Samsung’s 4nm process and adopts a three-cluster architecture design. The CPU will be 13.0GHz X2 super large core + 32.5GHz large core + 4*1.79GHz small core, and GPU is Adreno 730.
