Samsung W22 5G

Samsung’s W series has never really made it from China since it was a clamshell phone with number pads. The new Samsung W22 5G is a custom version of the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G intended for the Chinese audience. In partnership with China Telecom, Samsung upgraded a higher version of Z Fold3 with 16GB + 256GB at CNY 16,999 (~ $ 2,645).

In promotional materials, Samsung is proud of the W22 5G’s craftsmanship and elegant design. It features a gold Phantom Blake finish in the gold accent. The “From the Heart to the World” logo is kept in gold in the same color like gold.

Samsung W22 5G, officially announced in China

On paper, the W22 5G is the same as the Galaxy Z Fold3 5G that is already on the market, complete with S Pen support. Chinese smartphones are not included in the Google mobile services and they come pre-loaded with region-specific apps. It would not be wise to import W22 5G into Western markets, as cellular bands may be inappropriate.
