Pixel Pass in Google’s device, online services, and carrier plan bundle

A brand new article discovered by M. Brandon Lee gives us our first information on Google’s Pixel Pass subscription service. In essence, users will pay a pre-determined monthly fee and access to Pixel phones with Google warranty and device upgrades plus Google Fi network coverage and Google’s first-party services including Google One, PlayPass, and YouTube Premium. Stadia are not explicitly mentioned in the leaked image.

If that sounds familiar, it’s primarily Google’s approach to Apple’s iPhone upgrade program where users receive new phones every year and Apple One Service makes Cupertino’s key online services and streaming platforms a month. Episode 1. The leaked image also explains that users will be able to trade in an older phone when switching to the Pixel Pass program and there is an option to purchase a Pixel Pass subscription through the Google Store. The Pixel Pass will likely be exclusive to the US at launch.

There is no mention of prices for the Pixel Pass, though Google’s October 19 ceremony now confirms that we should get more details on the project with the launch of the Pixel 6 Series.
