Oppo Announces New Features of ColorOS 12, Post Timeline for Updating Existing Phones
Oppo delivers the full details of ColorOS 12, its latest platform being Android 12. The company also published a roadmap for upgrading devices in China to version 12, the first batch coming in early October (you can see the list at the bottom left. This article).
Opo is not opted-in with Google-compliant content, instead choosing acrylic icons and more natural images. It does not appear static, the new Quantum Animation Engine 3.0 has been used to give objects a sense of innovation for physically correct animations.
The key objectives for ColorOS 12 were to facilitate multitasking and increase system reliability. There are things like click flower cards, widgets like cards that show status information of connected smart devices and offer simple actions buttons.
Another helper is Smart Sidebar 2.0, which can be pulled from the side and offers La Context App based on the Appeal Actions app you are currently using.
Oppo has developed a system for navigating your phone and computer. You can see it on the phone’s screen computer, contact it and get the notification. You can also easily drag and drop information between devices (though the clipboard is shared so you can copy and paste).
The Car + does something similar while you’re driving – it puts it on a dedicated car UI-supported vehicle, allowing you to use the phone’s navigation and entertainment features, complete with voice commands.
Also be aware that OPO’s AI Assistant, the Schedule Assistant feature will keep you up to date and remind you and offer helpful tasks such as starting a map to guide you where you need to be.
The new animation engine is also used in Emoji – personalized 3D avatars that can duplicate every expression you have.
ColorOS also brings features that transcend the phone. This can be a shared family space where you can save your pictures without having to go through social media. There is also a shared calendar. Screensharing will help you find the least technically savvy people with the problems they have with their phones.
There are also many internal fixes. OPO announces that the new system reduces RAM usage by up to 30%, reduces background power usage by 20%, and battery life by up to 12%.
The new system also improves the use of internal storage, so read and write performance will be reduced by 5 percent over a 36-month period.

Finally, here is a list of which phones will be updated with ColorOS 12 and when. The Oppo Find X3 Pro and One H OnePlus 9 will be the first flagship to arrive early next month (Note: this is for OnePlus phones in China, of course, with the global unit Oxygen OS). The list includes many flagships, but there are also mid-range devices.
