Honor is now the third-largest smartphone brand in China
According to Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi has surpassed in terms of smartphone sales in China for Honor in August and is thus one of the top three major smartphone brands in the country behind Oppo and Vivo. The new report states that 18% of monthly Honor smartphone sales for August also make the company one of the region’s fastest-growing wireless companies.
Counterpoint’s Tarun Pathak comments that Honor has successfully built its smartphone business this year after departing from Huawei. The Honor component was able to restore relationships with providers and used its strong R&D expertise to restore its position in China.
The Honor 50 Series is a big part of the revitalization of the brand in the mid-range Segment A, while the Magic3 lineup has been received as the flagship one in AE.
On the Go, Counterpoint Research expects Honor to accelerate competition in the Chinese market during the second half of 2021. Honor does not expect the share of the global market to be successful in China unless Honor manages to build its distribution network.
